Chief Executive Amir Frenkel said that the majority of existing AI solutions were built for digital, information-based tasks.

The industrial AI startup Noetive announced its official launch today, securing a seed round of $41 million in funding. The firm intends to bring self-improving AI models to factories and logistics networks, and design partners across manufacturing, logistics, energy and data-center sectors are already testing the platform.

Learning the physical world

Chief Executive Amir Frenkel said that the majority of existing AI solutions were built for digital, information-based tasks. He explained that operating a manufacturing plant or a distribution system requires constantly managing materials, equipment, workforce and suppliers, all of which are in continual flux. According to the firm, choices that connect these components still depend on information drawn from isolated systems that were not intended to synchronize an entire enterprise.

The firm describes its offering as an “intelligence of record.” Central to it is a self-enhancing AI model, which Noetive labels a “brain.” Software agents derived from this model operate atop the client’s existing tools and address end-to-end operational challenges. Every implementation is intended to improve the model’s abilities. Real-world data enters the platform via a multimodal sensing pod that Noetive builds in-house.

Steuben Foods Inc., which produces food and beverage items, counts among the initial collaborators. Its chief executive, Menachem Katz, explained that scheduling production has traditionally been a labor-intensive activity, as minor adjustments can affect the entire operation. Noetive now ingests both Steuben’s internal system information and on-site floor conditions. Katz noted that tasks formerly performed once a month and requiring a week of planning are now carried out daily in a matter of minutes. This transformation enables the company to respond instantly to changes in the supply chain or sudden demand surges, instead of depending on fixed forecasts.

Founders and backers

Amir Frenkel spent close to ten years as a vice-president at Meta Platforms Inc. and has also occupied senior positions at Alphabet Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. The remaining personnel were recruited from those firms as well as from Fortune 500 enterprises, and include scholars who have contributed to foundation-model research.

The company originated within Eclipse, which assisted in assembling the initial leadership. Additional investors comprise Craft Ventures Management, The Westly Group, Swish Ventures, Factory, Incite Ventures, Gigascale Capital, Operator Partners and Liquid 2 Ventures. Incite was created by Nest co-founder Matt Rogers, while Gigascale was founded by former Meta CTO Mike Schroepfer. Personal backers feature Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth, Airbnb Inc. CTO Ahmad Al-Dahle, and the trio of Decart.AI Inc. co-founders.

Lior Susan, founder and chief executive of Eclipse, remarked that the $30 trillion physical economy “has largely been left behind” by artificial intelligence. He added, “We saw an enormous opportunity to change that, and built Noetive to go after it.”
