vivo has published an upgrade plan for OriginOS 7, focusing mainly on camera features. The rollout runs from October 29 to late December. The update brings new camera color styles, a redesigned app, floating controls, and a color palette tool. It applies to the vivo X300 and X200 series, the iQOO 15 series, and the iQOO 13. Not all phones will get every feature at the same time.
The first update arrives on October 29. The vivo X300 Pro, X300, and X200 series will receive six new camera color styles. They are Chasing Light, Rich, Cool White, and three “humanistic” styles: Street, Portrait, and Life. The iQOO 15 series, iQOO 13, and X Fold5 must wait until late December for these new styles.
In the first week of November, floating-control updates will reach apps like Phone, Contacts, Messages, Weather, Settings, and Email on all OriginOS 7 phones. Video apps will get these updates in the second week.
The redesigned camera interface arrives in the second week of November. It will reach the X300 series, including the X300 Ultra, and the iQOO 15 series. This update allows users to customize the first screen and adds a new toolbox panel. The X200 series and iQOO 13 will get this redesign in mid-December.
Album editing updates arrive in the third week of November. These features include batch removal of watermarks and a straighten tool. The camera palette feature, which allows sharing custom looks, is the last to arrive in late December.
The update does not change the phone’s hardware. Sensors and lenses remain the same. Chinese reviewers confirm the new features do not improve image quality. The plan has also drawn criticism. Some users feel floating controls should have been included with the initial release, and that owners of older models are waiting too long for the new camera app. The rollout schedule is a weekly target, so some devices may receive updates a few days late. The plan currently applies only to China, with no dates given for global versions.
